What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small data file that a website places on your device when you visit it. It typically contains information about the website itself, a unique identification code that allows the site to recognise your browser on a subsequent visit, additional data required for the cookie's purpose, and the cookie's lifespan.

Cookies are used to enable certain functions (e.g. logging in), analyse site usage (e.g. statistics), save your settings (e.g. time zone and notification preferences), and personalise content (e.g. advertisements and language settings).

Cookies placed by the website you are visiting are called first-party cookies. They usually only track your activity on that specific site.

Cookies placed by other websites or companies (third parties) are called third-party cookies. They can be used to track you on other websites that use the same third party.

Types of cookies and how we use them

Performance cookies

Performance cookies track how you use our website during your visit. This information is usually anonymous and aggregated with data from all users. This gives us insight into usage patterns, allows us to detect and resolve problems or errors, and enables us to make better strategic decisions to improve the user experience on our website. These cookies may be placed by our own site (first-party) or by third-party services. They do not collect personal data about you.

We use performance cookies on our site.

Functional cookies (functionality cookies)

Functional cookies collect information about your device and the settings you choose on our website (such as language and time zone). With this information, we can offer you more personalised and optimised content and services. These cookies can be placed by our own site (first-party) or by third-party services.

We use functional cookies on our site.

How can you manage the use of cookies on our website?

You can decide for yourself whether you accept or refuse cookies on our website. You can do this via our Cookie Consent Manager. In this tool, you can indicate per category which cookies you want to allow or block. You cannot disable essential cookies, as they are necessary to provide the basic functionalities of the website.

Additionally, you can often adjust your cookie settings in your web browser. Because each browser works differently, we recommend consulting your browser's help section for more information. If you refuse or disable cookies, you can still visit our website, but certain features or parts may not function optimally.

How often is this cookie policy updated?

We may update this cookie policy from time to time, for example, when we start using different cookies or similar technologies, or due to operational, legal, or regulatory requirements.

Every time you visit our website, the most recent version of this cookie policy applies. At the top of this document, you will find the effective date; you can use that to see if any changes have been made since your last visit.
